Itinerary:
1st day.- Arrival to Lima.
Pick up at the airport “Jorge Chavez” in Lima and transportation to the reserved hotel in Lima.
2nd day.- Departure from Lima to Huaraz (by bus).
We will travel by bus from Lima to Huaraz, the capital of the district of Ancash (3100m). The transport provided by the company “Cruz del Sur” includes a “bus cama”, an overnight trip with reclined seats.
Departure time from Lima is at 09:30am and we will arrive in Huaraz at 5:30pm. Pick up at the bus terminal and transfer to the hotel in Huaraz is included.
The staff of "Enrique Expedition Tours" and the Mountain Guide will be informed about your arrival and will be waiting for you.
3rd day.- Acclimation trek to Lake Churup (4450m).
We will leave the city of Huaraz by private bus to Pitec (3850m). First we will pass the colorful villages of Llupa (3650m) outside of Huaraz, where we will have a panoramic view of the southern part of the Cordillera Blanca. Arriving in Pitec we start the hike to the Lake Churup at 4450m. First we enter the valley of Churup, after some hours of walking we will reach the Lake Churup, where we will stay for one hour before we return to our hotel in Huaraz.

The organization of personal material and logistical information for the Trek Santa Cruz - Climb Quitaraju, we will do after the trekking in the evening.
4th day.- Huaraz (3090m) – Caraz (2290m) – Cashapampa (2900m).
Pick up at the hotel and transfer by private transport from Huaraz to the city of Yungay – Caraz. From here on until the village of Cashapampa we can enjoy the east side of the Cordillera Blanca. In Cashapampa, the donkey driver and his donkeys will be waiting for us to transport our trekking gear. From there we start the trek up until we reach our first camp Llamacorral (3760m).
(Elevation Change: +860m; Duration: approx. 4-5 hours).
5th day.- Llamacorral – Jatuncocha Lake – Arhuaycocha Valley – Alpamayo base camp (4600m).
After a good breakfast we will leave the camp at Llamacorral and continue through the Valley of Santa Cruz. On the way we pass by the lagoons Icchicocha and Jatuncocha until we reach to the cross the Arhuaycocha Valley. From there we climb a zigzag rocky path until reaching the base camp of Alpamayo, where we will make our second camp.
(Elevation Change: +840m; duration: approx. 5-6 hours).
6th day.- Alpamayo Base Camp (4800m) – Moraine – Quitaraju Camp1 (5300m).
This day our porters will take care of the transportation of our technical and climbing, as well as camping equipment and food. After the breakfast we will leave the campsite to start the ascent to the moraine. On the way we will get to very rocky places and trails accompanied by polished granite rocks. After overcoming this area we will get to enter the glacial by the easy ramps and skirting some cracks to reach under the well-known hill. There we will start to climb slowly up to the final slopes (60º - 65º) and surpass this col to descend a few meters and arrive at Camp1 of Quitaraju. (Camp 1-5300 m.s.n.m).
(Elevation Change: +700m; length: approx. 6 -7 hours).
7th day.- Quitaraju Camp1 (5300m) – Quitaraju Summit (6036m) – Base Camp.
We will start the ascent at 3:00 am to climb the N wall at night. From the Camp 1 we will slightly go down by an plain entrance of the glacier to a rocky hill in the middle of the wall. The route goes up to the right of a rocky hill on uniform slopes of 45-50° to reach the western edge, located 100m from the summit. After the summit we will return to base camp. This day our porters will be in charge to transport the equipment from Camp1 to the Alpamayo base camp (approx. 10 - 12 h).

8th day.- Extra day in the case of bad weather.
This extra day could be used rest in case the clients are feeling tired or if there was bad weather during the day of the summit climb.
9th day.- Base camp Alpamayo (4600m) – Taullipampa (4250m).
Base camp Alpamayo, we will return by the same way to Camp Taullipampa (4250m), we will have a very nice view of Mount Taulliraju.
10th day.-Taullipampa (4250m) – Punta Unión (4750m) – Ravine Paria (3870m).
This day we will pass Punta Union (4750m), from where you have a breathtaking view of the Cordillera Blanca, as well as of the Ravine of Santa Cruz. We will observe the mountains Taulliraju, Rinrijircas, Pucahircas, Quitaraju, Santa Cruz, Artesonraju, Pyramid of Garcilaso, Paria and Millishraju. We will continue our trek to Camp Paria (3870m).
(Elevation Change: +500m; Duration: approx. 6-7 hours).
11th day.- Ravine of de Paria (3870m) – Vaqueria (3850m) – Portachuelo Llanganuco – Huaraz.
We will hike along the Valley of Huaripampa and observe picturesque villages like Yurma, Huaripampa, Colcabamba. Furthermore we will have a spectacular view of Chacraraju. When we will arrive at the village Vaqueria, we will have a private bus drive back to Huaraz. We will first drive over the Portachuelo pass (4767 m), where we will have a great view of the Cordillera Blanca and the mountains Huascaran, Chopicalqui, Huandoy, Pisco, Chacraraju and Yanapaccha. Then we will descend until we arrive to lake Llanganuco. Passing by the town Yungay, we will be returned to Huaraz and to your hotel between 4-5 pm.
(Elevation Change: +897m; Duration: approx. 5-6 hours).
12th day.- Departure from Huaraz to Lima (Bus).
Transportation from the hotel to the bus terminal "Cruz del Sur" and depature from Huaraz.
The departure time will be determined by your schedule, in the morning or night.
Morning departure: 11:00 am.
Night departure: 10:30 pm.
Pick up at the bus terminal in Lima and transfer to the hotel booked by us.
13th day.- Transfer from the hotel to the airport - Return to the country of origin.
